The list below contains names of drugs that have been used for weight loss, but have been shown to have high levels of toxicity or to be  inappropriate for weight loss. Unless indicated otherwise, details of pharmacology and toxicity can be found by searching in Toxnet, which is linked below.

The US National Library of Medicine Toxicology Network (TOXNET) has searchable databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, etc.

The UK and Ireland Toxbase database held by the National Poisons Information Service is available to NHS services and emergency services in Ireland if registered (username and password required).
